Where are you located?
Nicole offers both in-person and virtual sessions. Virtual sessions can be help during any open time slot. Nicole works in Lincoln, RI on Wednesdays. She works in Warwick on Mondays.
Do you take insurance?
Currently, Nicole is in Network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and Commercial Aetna Plans.
Do you accept out of network?
Nicole offers private pay options, and she will provide a superbill that you can give to insurance for reimbursement.
Do you prescribe medication? What is the difference between a psychologist and a psychiatrist?
No. I do not prescribe medication. Psychiatrists prescribe medication and go to medical school. They have additional training to treatment mental illnesses with medication.
Psychologists go to graduate school and study the science of mental health and human behavior. They are trained in diagnosing mental illness and in treating individuals using a variety of evidenced based treatment.
What if I need medication?
Medication can be a useful tool in addition to therapy. If you are already on medication and like your provider, then nothing needs to change. When it seems as though medication could be a useful addition to your treatment, Nicole has relationships with several providers and can support you in making an appointment. Some primary care doctors also are able to prescribe some medications.
What is therapy like?
Let’s be real. Therapy is kind of weird. You go into an office or log into a program, and a stranger says they want to get to know you and help you. I get it. Feels a bit scary.
Do I need to share all the things?
Nope. Absolutely not.
How do I pay my bill?
Nicole asks for payment at the time of service. She accepts most cards and checks. For some insurance plans, you may have a deductible and insurance will tell you what you owe after a claim is submitted. In those instances, your bill will be emailed to you with information on how to pay.
Why did I fill out two sets of forms?
For some insurances, Nicole partnered with a credentialing company to process insurance claims. This service enabled Nicole to accept more insurance plans than she otherwise would have been able. For those plans, Nicole sends two sets of paperwork.
Can I ask you questions?
Sure! I think it is important to be transparent about treatment. I will always answer questions about you and your treatment. Of course, you should know your diagnosis and treatment plan. You can always ask why I am asking you a question or offering a certain intervention.
You can also ask questions about me. Will I answer all of them? Nope. Will I answer some? Within reason, sure.
Can I bring someone with me?
I do not offer couples of family therapy. However, there may be times where you want to bring someone for a session.
